- Curator's comments
- An impression of this print was first shown in the 'Modern Masters of Etching' exhibition at the Leicester Galleries, London in October 1919 (no. 197). It was printed in an edition of 25.
The drypoint composition derives from a detail in Nevinson's oil painting "Hampstead Heath", 1919 (reproduced in Richard Ingleby et al. "C.R.W. Nevinson: The Twentieth Century", exh.cat., Imperial War Museum, London, 1999, plate 115).
