- Curator's comments
- One of two proofs from Durassier's studio (see also 1998-11-8-53). According to information from Robert Conway (May 2005) June Wayne and Pat Gilmour visited Paris together, probably in the late 80s, and June introduced Pat to Marcel. At that meeting, he turned over to June a number of these proofs, as well as a group of Artist's Proofs and/or BATs from their work together in 1958/9. They are strictly trial proofs, not associated closely with any individual editioned images. She was experimenting with directing the peau-de-crapaud, trying to get control of it.
