- After the 1640-1641 self-portrait by Anthony van Dyck in an oval; sold by Sotheby's London, 9.xii.2009, lot 8 (bt Philip Mould for £8.3m); see S. Barnes, N. de Poorter, O. Millar and H. Vey, 'Van Dyck: A Complete Catalogue of the Paintings', New Haven, 2004, cat.no.IV.5. It is the last self-portrait made by the artist and has always been kept in private English collections (possibly Sir Peter Lely and more recently at Osterley Park).
