Political caricature published in 'The Truth', 1904 Christmas number, based on Plate 2 of Hogarth's Marriage A-la-Mode, with contemporary politicians taking the places of Hogarth's figures: the bride is Arthur Balfour, prime minister; a red box lettered "J C" thrown to the ground belongs to Joseph Chamberlain, formerly secretary of state for the colonies; the dog appears to represent Jesse Collings who had been under-secretary of State for the home department until 1902. 25/12/1904
