'L'Assiete au Beurre' (Paris), April 1091 to March 1902; containing 494 illustrated sheets for the magazine including cover, illustrations by Steinlen, Jossot, Morin and Vogel among many others, each weekly volume comprising of usually 8 illustrated sheets with satirical images and political commetary; with continuous page numbers from 1 to 740 printed front and verso, 758 to 780 printed front only with 'avis' to the readers that these sheets are only printed on front due to their lithographic format, 781 to 852 printed again front and verso, including pages 461-468bis, 3 unnumbered folded sheets, with 3 aditional 'hors serie' issues containing 8, 48 and 32 pages, issue no 47 with 16 unnumbered pages, and supplemental magazine 'Les images comiques de la famille' with 32 pages, and missing pages 255-6 and 285-6. The first issue with text to 'Monsieur le Directeur' by A. Willette explaining the goal of the periodical, some of the volumes illustrated by one artist only. Bound in red quarter-leather with marbled boards, raised bands and gold tooling on spine, marbled endpapers.
