- See Frances Carey, 'Modern Scandinavian Prints', BMP 1997, no.28 [incorrectly listed as 1989,0618.284]:
From 1947 to 1949 Norsbo executed six prints of this particular subject, the plant of Sweden's largest electrical company (Allmänna Svenska Elektriska AB) situated at Västerås (I am indebted to Jane Rothlind for this information). Together with the six 'Domnarvet' plates (1989,0617.285) done between 1946 and 1953 they form within his oeuvre a distinct group of industrial imagery which Jane Rothlind has related to the influence of Joseph Pennell, with specific reference to the latter's lithograph 'Charleroi' reproduced by Hans Singer in 'Die Moderne Graphik'.
Sweden became a fully industrialised nation between the wars with an impressive national power system based on hydro-electricity, for which Västerås was a key source of supply.
