- The text must be derived from a French original, but the dancing soldiers is probably entirely Newton's invention. Another impression of Newton's print was illustrated (wrongly) as a French original in 'Geist und Galanterie', Bonn (Kunst und Ausstellungshalle) 2002, p.77.
