- Curator's comments
- The 1986 Recent Acquisition label text;
De Vadder was a follower of Rubens who specialised in landscape. He was active in Brussels as a painter, etcher and designer of tapestries. His work has been little studied, and the present drawing may conceivably be by a contemporary or follower.
