Sketch of a sailing boat and inscriptions (see Inscription field); first leaf of sketchbook bound in vellum with a flap, inscribed on the front "2d December 1776 - 6[t] May 1777", containing 94 leaves with drawings mainly of views in and around Rome including the river Tiber, and a few studies after the Antique; subjects also include boats, plants and figures; after the eighty-third leaf, the sketchbook was completed from the back, the drawings being inverted on the versoes of the leaves.
