- Curator's comments
- According to Armelhaut & Bocher, the print was published in 'Le Charivari' on 17 February 1841.
This impression is very cropped, so no lettering is present to determine the state.
The series 'Les Débardeurs' comprises 66 lithographs, published in 'Le Charivari'. Eight of them had previously been published in 'La Caricature', namely Plates 21, 23 and 24, all under the title 'Souvenirs du Carnaval', and Plates 32, 44, 49, 54 and 61, all under the title 'Les Débardeurs'; Plate 58 had been published 'La Mode', also under the title 'Les Débardeurs'.
