- According to the catalogue, the series 'Les Actrices' comprises fourteen prints.
The catalogue entries reference their publication in 'La Caricature' (initially called 'La Caricature Provisoire') and / or 'Le Charivari'.
This print, but not the impression catalaogued here, was published in 'La Caricature', 12 July 1840 and also in 'Le Charivari', 6 April 1843.
The Bibliographie de la France lists several prints by Gavarni titled 'Les Actrices', Plates 6 to 8 in 1839, Plate 9 to 11 (the entry for Plate 10 does not specifically record 'Gavarni') in 1840 and Plates 12 and 13 in 1841.
