- David died c. 1662, and Charles Maurice Le Tellier was not appointed Cardinal before 1671; it is therefore very likely that the plate was initially engraved by him with a different coat of arms, and reworked at a later date (1671-1710) with the addition of Le Tellier's coat of arms, in order to be placed at the top of a dedication page.
