Two scenes; the first; Grimaldi and his friend leaning out of the windows of a coach, swiftly driving to the right, his friend, with an expression of rage aiming a pistol at a farmer who rides slowly behind, Grimaldi holding up one hand, the farmer in riding costume with an expression of terror; the second; Grimaldi, his sword in his hand and fashionably dressed, tripping over a large and surprised cow in the dark and falling on his face, attempting to pursue a robber, a terrace of large houses beyond, some with lighted windows; artist's proof; illustration to Dicken's "Memoirs of Joseph Grimaldi" (1837)
