The frontispiece with two scenes; the first; the father proposing his plan to lose his children in the forest to his wife, the children asleep in bed, Hop-o'-my-Thumb sitting up in bed and listening to their conversation; the second; the children dancing in a circle in the forest, their parents slipping away through the trees, their mother looking back in sadness, her husband dragging her on, the whole surrounded by borders of trees and the ogre at the top; illustration to Cruikshank's "The Fairy Library - Hop-O'-My-Thumb and the Seven League Boots" (1853)
