- The verses were published in John Banks's "Miscellaneous Works in Verse and Prose", 1738; see also BMSat 2126. It is assumed that the broadside was originally printed before that date (shortly after Hogarth's original publication in 1733); this impression, with its revised publication lines, must have appeared after Sayer went into business on his own account in 1748 and before his address changed with the introduction of street numbering in the mid 1760s.
The print is damaged, wanting parts of the image on the left side.
