- See S. Coppel, 'Picasso and Printmaking in Paris', (Exhib. Cat.), South Bank Centre, 1998, no.2 and also 'Printmaking in Paris: Picasso and his Contemporaries', (Exhib. Cat.), BMP, 1997, no.37. The Cecil Higgins Gallery, Bedford, own 'Cubist Still Life II' , 1912 (P.513) that was also restruck in 1950 by Visat and published by Maeght, Paris 1953.
This belongs to a series of ten cubist etchings executed between 1908 and 1913 which with the exceptions of Job and Fox were not published until the early 1950s. The formal developments in Braque's etched compositions parallel those in his paintings. None of the Maeght editions exceeded fifty in number. The V&A hold one, the Arts Council three.
