- See the curatorial comment on record 1974, U. 1-14 for information on Cruikshank's unmounted drawings.
After further research it may be possible to date individual drawings more accurately through their content or the support and materials used. For example, the paper used for 1974,U.1469 is watermarked 1855 and 1974,U.1490 is drawn on the back of an advertisement for a "life sized medallion of Mr George Cruikshank published by Mr. Hogarth, 5 Haymarket, London. Size 24 in x 18 in, Price one guinea painted."
