Baron Leonhard Fronsperger, "Von Kayserlichen Kriegßrechten Malefitz vnd Schuldhändlen, Ordnung, vnd Regiment...beschreiben...durch Leonhart Fronsperger...gebessert" (Frankfurt am Main, Hieronymous Feyerabend) Parts I and II, 1571 & 1573; containing wooducts by Jost Amman illustrating the laws of war etc., including a portrait of Fronsberger, device, initials, and decorative blocks. Bound with titlepage to Part I, printed in red and black with vignette showing female personification of Victory surrounded by martial emblems in strapwork cartouche with putti, and titlepage to Part II also printed in black and red, with two woodcuts depicting soldiers operating cannons. In German blind-stamped pigskin binding with the arms of Sebastian von Walwitz.

A note pasted in at the front of the volume explains:
"This volume was imperfect when purhcased of Quaritch for 14/-. Ten etchings by Jost Amman have been taken out and placed with his works, B. Vol. IX. There are many woodcuts bearing his monogram & one having the monogram MB, Bartsch IX, still in the volume."
