"The Artist's Repository and Drawing Magazine, Exhibiting the Principles of the Polite Arts in their Various Branches" edited by Francis Fitzgerald, Vol.IV (London: C. Taylor) 1788; a series of lectures on various topics such as the human figure, architecture, landscape, perspective and colour, addressed to students and amateurs, this volume containing: a title-page with a vignette of a putto writing on a scroll; the text divided in 2 sections, each with its title-page and preface: "A dictionary of principles, and terms of art, adopted in the arts of design, in their various branches with explanatory remarks and observations" and "A compendium of colours and other materials in the arts of design, in their various branches, with remarks on their natures and uses"; 34 plates (1 folded) mostly by Bartolozzi, showing mainly figures and flowers. Bound in half-leather with a gilt-tooled lettering on the spine.
