Taylor) 1788; a series of lectures on various topics such as the human figure, architecture, landscape, perspective and colour, addressed to students and amateurs, this volume containing: a frontispiece showing the portrait of the artist N. Poussin; a title-page with a vignette of three putti painting and drawing; a preface; a second title-page "Miscellanies related to the Arts, collected from the artist's repository and Drawing Magazine"; 53 plates mostly by Bartolozzi, showing various allegories and the portraits of: James Thornhill; Michaell Rysbrack; Godfrey Kneller; Mrs Grace; James Callot. Bound in half-leather with a gilt-tooled lettering on the spine.
