'Fables par Pierre Lachambeaudie. Couronnées deux fois par l'Académie Française.' (Paris, Michel & Cie) n.d. (c. 1849); containing 8 wood-engraved vignettes by different artists serving as head and tail-piece of each of the four books, and 5 full-page etchings after page lettered 'book five', the plates titled: 'Le figuier stérile', 'Les deux rivages', 'Le poëte et l'abeille', 'L'enseigne de Cabaret' and 'L'enfant et les fleurs'. Eight extra impressions of the title-page bound together at the end of the book. Bound in quarter cloth with marbled boards.

- The title-page reads: "Fables de Pierre Lachambeaude / Couronné deux fois par l'Académie française / précédés d'une introduction / par Pierre Leroux / Illustrées d'après les dessins de / Daubigny, Jeanron, Cabasson, Adrien Guignet, C. Marville, C. Nanteuil, Staal, Traviès, etc., etc. / Et du portrait de l'Auteur gravé par Pannier / Nouvelle édition".
This volume does not have the introduction or Lachambeaude's portrait announced at the title-page. On the back of the title-page there is the 'Conditions de la Souscription' and list of other books by the publisher. Books 1 to 4 are mostly text, with the wood-engravings serving as headpiece and tailpiece, while book 5 is composed of 5 full-page plates only. Each book contains various fables, with the vignettes corresponding to the first and last story of each book; the first 2 plates at the end (book five) are illustrations for stories on the previous books, while the other 3 plates are illustration to unidentified stories. The title-page is printed in blue paper, and there are 8 identical copies bound after the end of the plates of book 5.
