- From 'Cabinet du Roy', see 1965,0319.2.1 for comment on the set and on the album.
The original drawing is in the Département des Arts Graphiques, Louvre (Inv. 7645). It was catalogued as a copy after Annibale Carracci, however Catherine Loisel recently proposed to attribute the drawing to Annibale himself ("Inventaire général des dessins italiens, VII : Ludovico, Agostino, Annibale Carracci", Paris, 2004, No.731, p.298). Stephen M. Bailey believes the Louvre drawing to be by an artist of the school of Annibale Carracci ("Carracci landscape studies: the drawings related to the 'Recueil de 283 Estampes de Jabach'", 1993, No.160b, p.531-532).
