- Hollerbach states that there is no precise data on Selivanov's life and his prints are rare. This one is not mentioned among those listed there (see E.Hollerbach, 'History of engraving and lithography in Russia', 1923, p.61). The print was perhaps made around the time that the sitter married Carl Friedrich, the Duke of Saxe-Weimar in 1804.
