- This watercolour was bequeathed by Lloyd in 1958 and came from the Warwick collection. It was made by Smith on 6th July 1787, during one of his first trips in Wales. In his account of Smith’s journey through Wales, Basil Long recorded drawings made on 13 July, while this drawing and the other view near St Donat’s Castle (see 1958,0712.376) were earlier on the same trip.
