Book containing 30 unnumbered views of Switzerland, with a frontispiece, a title-page, a dedication to Charles de Villers, 12 pages of introductory text by Philipp Albrecht Stapfer, a topographical map and explanation of the individual prints throughout; bound in brown leather, with gold stamping, applicated stripes of yellow leather and the title in gold stamping on the front and the spine, Paris and Strasbourg, 1812
Etching and aquatint, with hand-colouring, individually titled as follows:
1) Frontispiece with a mountain landscape and the Staubbach falls in the background; in the foreground a stone inscribed with 'Vierzehn Aussichten im Oberlande jenseits Thun gewählt (...)'
2) Topographical map of the Berner Oberland
3) 'Vûe de la Ville de Thoune.'; third state, the artist's signature and dating disappeared by adding aquatint
