- As a married woman, Princess Alice was able to wear the diamond tiara given to her as a wedding present by Queen Victoria. Mayall’s photographs were used by the artist William Powell Frith, in his composition of the huge group portrait of the marriage (Royal Collection, RCIN 404545, Millar, cat. 239)
