- The group of nine drawings 1952,0229.5 to 13 was presented anonymously during Popham's keepership. In his catalogue of drawings from the school of Parma in 1967 Popham revealed that 1952,0229.8 was given by Count Seilern, and the same provenance therefore holds for all nine drawings. Beyond that, the drawings seem to have varied provenances.
This item has an uncertain or incomplete provenance for the years 1933-45. The British Museum welcomes information and assistance in the investigation and clarification of the provenance of all works during that era.
