- Curator's comments
- The drawings were intended to be laid over the prints to demonstrate their composition. They are kept within the portfolio 'Ludditenbewegung' (1949.0411.5131.1...28) on the Luddite Movement. The series is based on the 1922 play 'Die Maschinenstürmer' by Ernst Toller.
The department holds two copies of this rare portfolio; the other registered 1989,0513.4...16. This portfolio has a number of letters from the artist to Campbell Dodgson attached to the inside front cover (see notes by Eszter Kardos, June 2001, also in portfolio).
