- Curator's comments
- This etching was made in 1931 (July 4, Boisgeloup); the back of the copper plate is inscribed with this date, most probably by Picasso. This impression is from an edition of 100, probably printed in 1934, on wove Arches paper; these impressions are signed and numbered from 1/100 to 100/100.
It is not known who published the plate, nor who printed it. An impression dedicated to Sabartés (Picasso Museum, Barcelona, MPB 70.255) indicates that the edition probably dates to 1934.
