A book on the subject of the Waterloo campaign, with a long text descriptive of the Hundred Days and the prelude and aftermath of the battle, with five plates illustrative of geographical features of the field, a map of the battlefield, a large fold out view of the battle from Mont St Jean, two plates with portraits of the British and the Allies and the French Royal Family, the family of Bonaparte and French generals and statesmen and two vignettes of the island of St. Helena. 1816. The individual plates as follows:
1. A view of the town of Waterloo, the church on the hill to the right and terraced houses along the road to the left, British horse artillery driving a convoy of French cannon away from the battlefield, citizens watching, some from their carriages
2. A view of the partially ruined Chateau d'Hougoumont, the riders on the road to the gates and spectators accompanied by a British officer to the foreground
3. A view of La Haye Sainte, looking towards Waterloo, the partially ruined farmhouse to the left, a carriage driving along the road with other riders and walkers travelling in both directions, grave-diggers at work to the right with numerous freshly dug graves
4. A view of Quatre Bras, looking towards Waterloo, a phaeton on the road, grave-diggers at work on either side of the road with numerous freshly dug graves
5. A view of La Belle Alliance, looking towards Genappe, the inn partially ruined and another ruined building beyond, a British officer with two companions to the foreground and a group of two civilians on horseback in conversation with peasants
6. A map of the battlefield showing the positions of the British and Allied, Prussian and French forces (delineated as infantry and cavalry) and the notable landmarks such as roads, towns, buildings and woods
7. A view of the battle from Mont St. Jean with the advance of the British line, a regiment of Highlanders to the left engaged with French cavalry, some cheering Wellington and his staff who ride to the left, several of his mounted officers with swords drawn directing the British charge, a regiment of British line infantry advancing, British artillery and cavalry marching forward from the left, the farmhouse of Hogoumont and the battle raging beyond
