- Reproduced in A. Bury, 'Thomas Collier', Leigh-in-Sea, 1944, pl.49, where the author states (opp. pl.8) that this was the third version of the watercolour of the same subject (std 1875) which gained Collier the Legion of Honour at the Paris International Exh. in 1878. According to Bury, the BM version is the smallest, but the best "finer in composition, notes in colour and more direct in handling". Nettlefold purchased it in 1923 for 183 pounds and 15 shillings.
