- Curator's comments
- Shepherd exhibited views of St Alban's at the Royal Academy in 1803, 1805, 1808 and 1809, when his submissions included 'Interior view of St Alban's town Herts'. An engraving after PD 1948,0410.14 but with different figures was published in 'The Beauties of England and Wales', volume III; the volume is dated 1808 on the title page, but the plate itself 1812.
