- Description

The King steps to the edge of a fringed carpet facing Hunt, who is in hunting dress, bent under the weight of an enormous load of bulky 'Petitions'. Under Hunt's arm are four petitions inscribed respectively 'Petition', 'Petition Lancashire', 'Preston', 'Petition from Bolton': others are stuck into his breeches. In his pockets are pots of 'Hunt Match[less Blacking]'. A trumpet dangles from his waist; from his neck hangs a placard: 'Hunt's Matchless Blacking & Roasted Corn 65 Broad Wall'. Sweat drops from his face, and he asks 'Will your M—— y. take them singly or all-together'. The surprised King: 'aye' - - Oh give em' me all-together!' Behind him are four sniggering courtiers. 1830
