Turner, 'Italian Drawings in the BM, Roman Baroque Drawings', London, 1999, I, no. 288 Turner 1999 This is a preparatory study, in reverse and with some slight differences, for one of the series of prints of the life of St Teresa engraved in the late 1650s by the French engraver Guillaume Chasteau (or Château), for which see 1946,0713.750. Both Ciro Ferri (q.v.) and Lazzaro Baldi (q.v.) also contributed designs to the series. Literature: Popham, 1935, I, p. 162, no. 2 (as Sacchi).
