- Acquisition notes
- One of a large number of portraits of musicians purchased from the Royal College of Music. See Hind's report to the Trustees dated 7 October 1944. The College only kept the prints that were framed and displayed. Unable to store the remainder, they gave the BM first choice of all prints lacking in its collection, and sold the rest to Suckling's. The purchase was funded from a block grant made to the BM by the NACF, and the cost was £50 in all.
