Britannia stands with her lion beside her, holding a huge flag with a pennant inscribed 'Reform'; in its folds are the profile heads of the King, Brougham, Grey, Russell, and Burdett. Behind is the sea with a ship in full sail, the 'Reform'; the 'Anti-Reform', a similar ship, sinks, a complete wreck. 1 January 1832

Cf. No. 16673, &c. The 'W.D.' was then a strongly Radical paper. A similar but more elaborate 'Memento of . . . Reform' was presented with 'Bell's Weekly Messenger', 15 April 1832 (in B.M., registration no. 1868,1212.651).
