The Chancellery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from an album of portraits and caricatures illustrating Russian and foreign diplomatic circles; depicting eleven whole-length figures including Smirnov, Saltvikov sealing a letter on a table at l, Polyenov, Kudryavsky, Kutuzov, Blankenkhagen, [an illegible name], and possibly M A Volkov, a cupboard full of papers behind. c.1825

- The album was rebound in the BM retaining the original covers. See MS notes in Russian and English pasted into the back of the album, and Curator's Commentary for 1939-7-11-3(1).
The Kutuzov (or Koutouzoff) here represented could be Golenischev Kutuzov, Pavel Vasilievich (1772-1843), whose visiting card is found in the Sarah Sophia Banks collection (see J,10.143)
