A title-page and a series of seventy-seven plates each depicting one or more dwarf figures, the title-page showing a baroque cartouche surrounded by decorative framework, leafy branches, a musical horn and pipes; surmounted by the head of a devil or satyr with horns, his fingers seen clasping the edge of the cartouche at centre; above his head is a basket containing small figures; the plates can be divided in four parts: the first and second part both consist of twenty-nine plates, all depicting one central caricatural dwarf, both parts ending with a plate without image but lettered with a list of numbered poems of two lines; the third part consists of twelve plates representing the twelve months each showing two dwarves; the fourth part consists of six plates also each showing two dwarves; titled in French and Dutch above images; lettered below the images with undertitle in variably German, Spanish or French and with three poems of four lines each in respectively German, French and Dutch; most plates are numbered at the centre right; bound in a vellum cover. 1716

- For another publication by Willem Koning of the same year, consisting of only the first two parts of this publication, lacking three plates with images and the two lettered plates, see 1878,1214.756-810. The figures derive from the 'Gobbi' of Jacques Callot. This series is a pirated copy of the original published shortly before by Martin Engelbrecht in Augsburg: see for comment 1938,0617.12.1.
