A shot from Buckingham to Bedford. Thurday, May 2d, 1822.
Description
A later state (uncoloured) of BM Satires 14364, the position of the seconds corrected. Sir Watkin (left), behind his cousin, is less burlesqued and holds a pistol in place of leeks; 'her' is omitted after 'missed'. Lynedoch, so labelled, is more composed; at his feet are L—n—dock-leaves for plasters. He says: The affair will end most sattisfactorily they will now shake hands. On the wall: Rubbish may be Shot here. 4th May 1822 Etching with hand-colouring
