Curator's comments: The publixation date is taken from another impression, 1869,1211.54. The subject descends from the traditional theme of popular printmaking, where the person looking at the print constitutes the third ugly person. The date is given by another uncoloured impression of the Carington Bowles edition in the BM (1869,1211.54).
