Map, with the harbour town in the centre between two large bays with the Old and New Moles providing a shelter, the rock behind with the Signal House, fortified with batteries overlooking the plains on the left which are bordered at the extreme edge by the moated wall built by the Spanish, with a series of bays and points breaking up the shore line on the right and several ships on the sea; a key in a scrolled plaque in the left foreground; for Tindal's continuation of Rapin's 'History of England', published by Paul and James Knapton (1743-47).
