- See register. "Another impression of this print in the possession of J.W.Lister was inscribed 'Etched by Jno Jackson, RA'. William James Smith is known to have made etched copies of Rembrandt's prints, and some tracings by him after Rembrandt are in the BM. The name 'J.B.Smith' on this impression might be a mistake for W.J.Smith. Whether he is the etcher of whether John Jackson etched after his tracing is unclear. There are etchings by Jackson in this manner."
For a drawn copy by Smith of the same Rembrandt etching see also 1871,0812.1661. The British Museum does not hold an impression of the original etching, of which only three impressions are known.
