- Acquisition notes
- Dodgson's report to the Trustees of 1 July 1932 records that the Italian etchings in his 1932 gift (1932,0709.6 to 80) all 'derived from an album of Italian etchings that was in the early XIXc Rudge collection, famous for its Rembrandts, which was sold at Christie's in December 1924'. This can be identified as lot 5, bought by Martin for 21 guineas, with 254 etchings in a 'folio, whole-bound calf tooled with gold'.
