- The plates are all copies by Antonie de Winter after Johannes and Caspar Luykens' 'Het Menchelijke Bedrijf' series, first published in 1694. The same copies were used earlier in a publication by Ambrosius Scheevenhuizen (Haarlem: 1695), for comment on the earlier publication see 2AA*, a.57.1. For descriptions of the individual plates see 2AA*, a.57.1-101.
In the present publication the lettered titles, accompanying poems and alphabetical arrangment of the plates are the same as in the 1695 publication. The image of the title-page is the same, but the lettering below the image has been removed and replaced by a poem of six lines.
