- After a painting attributed to Matthias Stom, currently in The Hermitage in St Petersburg. The painting is mentioned in Benedict Nicolson, 'Stomer brought up-to-date', The Burlington magazine, 119, 1977, pp. 230-245 (no.102).Nicolson ascribes the painting to Stom's Sicilian period. Once thought to be by Honthorst (previously attributed to Tintoretto). See J.R. Judson and R. E. O. Ekkart, 'Gerrit van Honthorst 1592-1656', Dornspijck 1999, cat. 5.
