Curator's comments: Grivel (cat. No.27; also see IFF 95) records a portrait of Charles de Lorraine that is different to this plate; the plate recorded by Grivel shows the sitter turned to the right, and with a floral motif in the oval border. The dimensions are given as 9x6.8cm but it is not clear what these measurements refer to (plate-mark, image, sheet).
