Curator's comments
M. Grivel (2009) has identified this print as being after Jean Rabel the elder (c.1520-1586), dated to c.1583, in her catalogue raisonné of prints by father and son Rabel in the Bibliothèque nationale de France. It is the first state; an impression from the second is also in the BM: 2AA*a,71.75.
