- Curator's comments
- Schreiber describes the cut as part of a large series (Schr. No. 2174), produced about 1465-75 on the lower Rhine, which are to a large extent copied from engravings. Dodgson states the prints are rather "closely allied" to the Vienna Passion, as are the two other prints on the mount. However, they did not belong to the same set.
The oak-leaf pattern in the background is the same as that of Schreiber No. 2605.x (on the same mount) and No. 2583.
