This is an altered version of a plate originally representing Augusta Amelia (see 1925,1215.52). Aside from the head, the collar of the dress has been changed, and trees and a church have been added in the background.
The inscription identifies Marie Louise as 'Duchesse de Parme...', a title she obtained in 1814.. For an earlier impression with different title (with Marie Louise refered to as Empress of the French rather than Duchess of Parma) see 1925,1215.16.
