(Librairie Nouvelle, 1860): in front of an arbour, various figures seated around a table, including those from Normandy, Brittany and Alsace, representing the different sources of the popular songs within the book; in the left foreground, a mother rocks her child to sleep in her arms; an old woman spinning next to her; at right, a sailor and soldier converse animatedly; at the table, two lovers converse with a drunkard seated on the opposite side of the table; beyond at left, figures seen dancing around a maypole in the fields, and further beyond, a shepherd with an ox; after Edmond Morin. 1860
